OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT RULES Juneteenth 2026 Spades Tournament Basic Rules * Joker – Joker – Deuce – Ace * No Nils * No Blind Bids * First Hand Bid Itself * First Team to Win 10 Hands Wins the Match * Spades DO NOT have to be cut before leading Spades * Dealer may deal cards any way he/she chooses. However, the 1st card must go to the opposing team and the last card must go to the dealer. * Teams of two players * Partners sit across from each other * No table talk about hands * Reneging results in penalty points * Tournament referee decisions are final * Full rules will be reviewed before the tournament begins. TOURNAMENT FORMAT * Tournament Bracket: 16 Teams * Elimination Format: One Loss Elimination * Registration Fee: $30 Per Team * Game Limit: 250 Points * Prize: $350 Cash Prize * Plus recognition as the CORE Juneteenth Spades Champions * Festival recognition announcement * Social media recognition
